An explosion, suspected to be a suicide attack, this morning rocked the St. Rita Catholic Church in Ungwar Yero area of Kaduna metropolis.
The attack occured around 8:50 AM during the morning mass. It was gathered that the officiating priest was seriously injured.
“There was a loud explosion and I could see smoke on the horizon,” one resident said, adding there were claims of clashes breaking out between Christians and Muslims afterward.
An attacker attempted to slam a car bomb into a church during service on Sunday, killing at least three people, including himself, while wounding others, a rescue official said on Sunday.
“At least three people are confirmed dead,” the official said on condition of anonymity because he was not authorised to give out figures. He added later that the toll included the suspected attacker
