A four-man kidnap gang has abducted a woman, Ms Kehinde Olusanya in her home at Ayedun Akure, barely two days after a nursing mother and a reporter with the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), Olubunmi Oke was abducted in Akure.

Though the kidnapped NTA reporter was released on Sunday, Kehinde was reportedly kidnapped last Saturday at about 1.00am in the presence of her twin sister Taye, after her captors had gained entrance into their apartment. Kehinde is one of the twin sisters of the late Chief Josiah Olusanya, the Asamo of Akure.

Her twin sister, Taiwo is married to a former secretary to Ondo State Government, Fioye Bajowa. Daily Sun gathered that the twin sisters are living together. It was also gathered the two sisters run a boutique and beautician’s shop inside the Akure town hall shopping mall. The kidnappers, it was gathered, broke into their apartment late in the night and ordered Kehinde at gun point to follow them. They were said to have taken their victim away in a car to an unknown destination without taking any item from the apartment.

As the time of filing this report, the whereabouts of Kehinde is still unknown and her abductors had not established any contact with her family. Meanwhile, the kidnapped NTA, reporter, Olubunmi Oke has been released. She was released last Saturday night after spending over 48 hours in the kidnappers’ den and she had since re-united with her family.

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State council, however thanked all those who played one role or the other in securing Oke release. Chairman of the council, Akin Owanikin, in a statement yesterday said: “We commend the spirited efforts made by the family and we pray that nothing of such will take place in the family and our union again.

“We also call on the government and security agencies to step up protection of Nigerians in their homes, places of work and in all places.”
