Senate mourns Achebe, says ‘he’s a great loss to Nigeria, Africa

THE Senate Friday described the death of the literary giant, Professor Chinua Achebe as a great loss to Nigeria and Africa.

According to the Senate, the late Novelist and author was a fearless Nigeria who said the truth the way it was.

The Chairman, Senate Committee on Information, Media and Public Affairs, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, PDP, Abia South said “the  Nigerian Senate mourns the loss of Professor Chinua Achebe, a Nigerian icon.

” It is  a great loss to Nigeria and Africa. He is the greatest of African writers who played a key role in bringing African literature to the world. He was a fearless man who told the truth as he saw it. He will surely be missed.”
