Robbery: Man 'With Semi-Automatic Rifle' Held

A man has been arrested in London after he was apprehended by members of the public following an attempted armed robbery in a bank.
Police were called to reports of a robbery at Barclays bank on Borough High Street at around 1.47pm.
A Metropolitan Police statement said the suspect threatened staff with a firearm and demanded that money was handed over.
The man, in his 30s, left the bank empty-handed and was detained by members of the public shortly after.
He is now being questioned at a south London police station.
Officers said no shots were fired and no one was injured in the incident.
Twitters users reported seeing a man carrying what appeared to be an AK47 but police have not yet confirmed what type of weapon it was.
The incident is being  investigated by detectives from the Tower Bridge Flying Squad.
