A man has been arrested in London after he was apprehended by members of the public following an attempted armed robbery in a bank.
Police were called to reports of a robbery at Barclays bank on Borough High Street at around 1.47pm.
A Metropolitan Police statement said the suspect threatened staff with a firearm and demanded that money was handed over.
The man, in his 30s, left the bank empty-handed and was detained by members of the public shortly after.
He is now being questioned at a south London police station.
Officers said no shots were fired and no one was injured in the incident.
